The group stage ended today in Vilanova and in Sant Cugat and the names and pairings of the 10 male and 8 female teams that will play for the gold medals are defined.
MALE
The last day reserved surprisingly results in both group. In group A, Spain completed its path with the third victory against Angola, while France won Italy with an historic come over that gave to Carlo Di Benedetto & C. the 2nd place in the group.
In group B, Argentina won the group thanks to a better goal difference. In the afternoon, Portugal won Chile by 9-5 and that's wasn't enough because Argentina won 7-1 over Colombia, 2 goals more than necessary.
In Intercontinental Cup, Switzerland and Mozambique are the winner of the group and will play the play off to qualify to the quarterfinals of the World Championship against the 4th of the group in Vilanova: Colombia and Angola. These are the only to game scheduled on Wednesday for World Championship and Intercontinental Cup.
The quarterfinals of the World Championship will be played on Thursday at the Palau Blaugrana in Barcelona. The quarterfinals of the Intercontinental Cup will be played on Thursday at Sant Cugat.
FEMALE
The last two games of the group stage defined the standing of group B. Argentina got the 1st place thanks to a wide win against Italy, while Portugal got the 3rd place winning 2-1 against Portugal.
Wednesday is day off for the female World Championship and the knock out phase will begin on Thursday with the quarterfinals. Two games will be played at the Palau Blaugrana in Barcelona and two at the Isaac Galvez sports hall in Vilanova i la Geltru.
