After a long day of exceptional skateboarding, that went well into late evening, yesterday’s men’s and women’s quarterfinals are a wrap. Yesterday’s quarterfinal’s saw a different format than what we began with in open qualifiers.

The women’s division began in the morning and had six heats, with six women in each heat, for a total of thirty six competing. Each rider had two 45 second runs, along with five attempts each in the best trick contest.

It was the same format starting in the late afternoon for the mens. The top twenty from each division advance to join the four pre-seeded semi-finalist. Both divisions are stacked with talent, with the level of difficulty and consistency increasing at every move up.

With the expectation of a full house for both today’s semifinals and tomorrow’s finals, and with the competition whittled down to an elite few, this weekend’s skateboarding should be nothing short of phenomenal.
