WRG 2019: The World Roller Games are honored to host the official World Championships of Vert Skateboarding

Today is the first day of practice and top skaters from around the world used the chance to get comfortable with the Vert Ramp that features an elevator, extension, and a large channel.

Needless to say that under the hot summer sun of Spain – and in the center of the Olympic venue of Barcelona – the heat is rising. As we all know, once you feel comfortable with the shape, the sky is the limit.

Concentration, determination, technique, and speed are basic ingredients for what we call “style”. All this is then combined with an attitude that could be summarized as: pushing each other to even greater skill levels by challenging each other. The chances of seeing this happen are rare, since this level of skateboarding is not coming together very often. We took this chance to take some pictures while we captured the vibrant style of each rider.

Among the skater who compete we find rising stars like Lilly Stroephasius (12, Germany), Gui Khury (10, Brazil) and Alessandro Mazzara (15, Italy) as well as Lindsey Pastrana (29, USA), Augusta Akio (18, Brazil) and Jono Schwan (22, USA) and many others.
