Once again China confirmed its undoubtable experience and know how in organizing breath-taking Opening Ceremonies. 61 National standard bearers paraded in front of more than the 15.000 people that crowded the Olympic Sport Center in Nanjing. After the institutional greetings and the athletes oaths, the Roller festival started with 10 choreographies on roller skates. It has been simply amazing: around 2000 skaters, musicians, acrobats, singers, masks and dragons left gobsmacked the audience on the seats and at home.

Rink Hockey
Spain won 5-7 over Argentina: it seems they well learned how to benefit of the extra time as they gained the Gold Medal in the overtime for the second year in a row. It has been an extremely amazing and fought match due to the continuous counter attacks and front over-turnings: Spain closed it only in the last few seconds. Inline Hockey
Podiums are ready, tomorrow is the day: Junior Hockey will celebrate its epilogue at Youth Olympic Sport Gymnasium in Nanjing. Games for gold medal, France – Spain (Junior Men) and Italy – Chinese Taipei (Junior Women), will be broadcast live on www.rollergames.tv.
Even in the 'Roller Games Opening Ceremony' day, pucks didn't stop in Nanjing. Senior Women program is on the run: 12 nations divided in 3 round robin pools. Two games played today, both for Pool A: an easy one for defending champion Canada versus Korea (16-0), while Italy had to fight hard to defeat a well organized Australia, that opened the score first, with Roberts. Sniper Bisi found the equalizer before the break, Raia scored the game winning goal in the second period: “A tough win is the best way to start the tournament – said Italian coach Ceschini – we have to adjust chemistry, but I'm quite confident”.

Artistic
The Argentinian’s Millenium won their seventh Gold Medal in the Precision Groups competition with a very dynamic performance and a program containing good intersection elements, no hold elements and travelling element. The second place went to the Italian Precision Team Albinea, with a very elegant Bolero and a coreography contaning high level elements. Syncro Roller won the Bronze medal. Alpine
Today the World Roller Games in slalom took place in the Jubaoshan Sports park. The race track contained very steep as well as very flat parts. In summary the track was quiet challenging for the athletes. The first run has been built by the Spanish trainers. The second one by the trainer from Czech Republic. In the women's category Mona Sing (Germany) could cope best with the conditions. With only a very slight difference of 0.01 seconds Claudia Wittmann (Germany) got the 2nd place. Manuela Schmohl (Germany) got the bronze medal. In the men's category Kristaps Zvejnieks (Latvia) won the gold medal after two ambitious runs. Marco Walz from Germany followed him on the 2nd place. His team colleague Sven Ortel (Germany) got the bronze medal.

Roller Freestyle
Men and Women riders here came here in the venues that hosted the SportsLab in 2014 from all over the world. This is the first historical FIRS Roller Freestyle world championships and the expectations are very high. TOday the qualifications and semifianls took place. Roller Derby
The Roller Derby girls started today their experience in Nanjing in the very first FRIS toournament ever. Good luck to all the girls!
