Dear friends,
The news we received today from Rio de Janeiro represents an important achievement that makes us very proud and satisfied: the IOC Assembly has in fact approved the inclusion of Skateboarding in the 2020 Olympic Games – and this is undoubtedly the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream shared by all of us: International Federation, managers, coaches and athletes.
Many times during these past years I have asked you to believe with me in this Dream and I am happy that having believed it together has brought us to this point.
For many years we have been fighting for the chance of showcasing our potential in the Olympic Games: young sports for the Young is our motto and, finally, we will be able to attend the Olympics and make a difference. Skateboarding will be our key to showcase the universality, the all-encompassing quality and the appeal of all Roller Sports.
This is an historic moment for the FIRS. We have achieved a first important result that has required effort and commitment: now, together, we have to roll up our sleeves and commit ourselves take up the opportunities.
I am sure you will all be by my side for this new challenge that we were able to take on!

Lo logramos! Estamos en los Juegos Olímpicos
Estimados amigos,
La noticia que nos llega hoy de Río de Janeiro es un logro importante que nos llena de orgullo y satisfacción: la Asamblea de la COI ha aprobado la inclusión del skateboarding en los Juegos Olímpicos de 2020 - y esto es sin duda la coronación de nuestro sueño,como Federación, como líderes, como técnicos y como atletas.
Muchas veces a lo largo de los años os he pedido que compartir conmigo este sueño y estoy feliz de el haber creído en esto nos haya traído hasta aquí.
Durante muchos años, hemos luchado para tener la oportunidad de demostrar, en los Juegos Olímpicos, nuestro potencial: nuestro lema es deportes jóvenes para los jóvenes y por fin tendremos la oportunidad de estar presentes en los Juegos Olímpicos y hacer la diferencia. El Skateboarding será la llave de entrada para demostrar la universalidad, la versatilidad y el atractivo de todos los deportes sobre ruedas.
Este es un momento histórico para la FIRS. Hemos llegado a un primer resultado importante que nos costó esfuerzo y compromiso, pero ahora tenemos que trabajar, todos juntos, para aprovechar las posibilidades que se han desplegado. Ha llegado la hora de arremangarse, con compromiso personal, para aprovechar las oportunidades.
Estoy seguro de que todos ustedes serán a mi lado en este nuevo reto que hemos sido capaces de emprender!
