The roller world loses an innovator, a world-wide leader for skating rinks and tracks. There probably isn’t an athlete in the world who hasn’t competed at least once in a Vesmaco rink/track.

And this was probably something that made Romano Maria Cacciani, founder and CEO of Vesmaco, very proud.

Mr. Cacciani was an institution for the Italian and international skating world. An innovator that, for around 50 years, has managed with his company to radically transform the surfaces of the competition tracks and rinks and make them highly well-performing and safer: synthetic-raisins surfaces, for sports or civil use, homologated and appreciated by all Sports Bodies and installed in many countries in the five continents. Starting from the one in L’Aquila (Italy) in 2004, all the main international events have been staged on these rinks/tracks.

With his company Vesmaco, located in Monsano (AN) in the Marche region, Cacciani has managed to revolutionize the competitive practice of Roller Speed Skating and Roller Artistic Skating by eliminating the old notion of rink/track made of concrete and offering to athletes comfort, great adherence and a high degree of smoothness, allowing them to reach new records and improve their performance.

President Aracu, the FIRS board and the whole roller movement offer their warmest support to the Cacciani family: the great man has sadly passed, but his legacy will surely live on through his irreplaceable rinks and tracks all over the world!
