FRANCE ARRIVES IN CALI ON AUGUST 5TH

The French Roller Sport Federation has confirmed that their National Team will arrive on August 5th to participate in the World Roller Speed Skating Junior and Senior Championship to be held in Cali from August 17th to 25th. France is the firs country to set a date for its arrival to the World Championship.




The manager of the French Federation, Serge Gerderes, trough a letter to its Colombian counterpart and to the Organization of the World class event, stated that the French selection has planned to arrive in Colombia on August 5th and move directly to the World Championship's Host City.



In the latest World Championships, France has participated with 20 sportsmen on both categories and both branches (track and road). One of the figures of last year's Championship in Anyang, South Korea, was Thomas Boucher who will be in Cartagena next week to compete in the "Bolivar 150 years" Pre-World Championship







The French Roller Speed Skating Team has been a main character and a motivator of the sport in the last four World Championships. France was 7th at the Venezuela 2003 World Championship, 4th at Italy 2004 and China 2005 and 8th at South Korea 2006.







Besides Boucher, the Gaul have among its main figures Baptiste Grandgirard, Yan Guyader, Angele Vaudan, Pascal Briand, Julien Depaux and Ewen Fernández, to name a few.
