Belgium has confirmed its participation and is now part of the club of countries that will contend in both women and men categories at the World Roller Speed Skating Junior and Senior Championship to be held in Cali, Colombia from August 17th to 25th.

 The general secretary of the Belgium Skating Federation, Mrs. Gonda Verbruggen, states in a letter addressed to the President of the World Championship's Organization Committee, Mr. Carlos Orlando Ferreira, who is also the President of the Colombian Skating federation; that is her pleasure to communicate the attendance of her country's federation to the World Championship that will take place in August. The Belgium representative says that at the moment they don't have the names of the skaters that will travel to Cali, but sends her best wishes to the organization process.

The Belgium Roller Speed Skating has among its figures the skaters Wouter Hebbrecht and Nele Armee. Belgium finished 13th in the Corea 2006 Championship winning two bronze medals. In 2003 it was classified in 16th place at the Venezuela Championship and was 14th in both 2004 and in the 2005 Championship in China.

On behalf of the Federation Belge de Roller Sports I have pleasure in informing you that our federation will participate, next month of August,

at the world championships speed skating organized by your federation in the city of Cali.

However, at this moment of the year it is impossible to communicate you any names yet since the selection of our team will take place later when the competition season has started again.
