Obiturary - Olive Plowman

20 May 2008

It is with much sadness that we advise of the passing of OLIVE PLOWMAN on 11 May 2008.

Olive was born on 29 July 1919 and was a distinguished Coach in New Zealand, being a member of the Napier Skating Club.

She coached for many years and was successful in coaching many New Zealand Champions.    Leigh-Anne Wiig who attended five Senior World Championships was one of her pupils.

The Napier Club was an outdoor club on the sea front in Napier and you would find Olive there coaching from the beginners right up to the New Zealand Champions at any time of the day.

Olive was a recipient of the OBE for her services to roller skating and also a Life Member of the NZ Federation of Roller Sports (Inc).

I am sure you will join us in passing our condolences onto her family and friends.
