First my son started learning roller skating at his age of 4 yrs ( 2000) and myself started at the age of 34 yrs (2001) with tenacity wheel and switched over to professional Skating Shoes. Participated in 4 State Championship and one National Championship. Details as follows:
2002: Duo participated in State level championship on 07.12.2002 in the respective age group of son in 0 to 6 yrs and self in above 16 yrs in speed category conducted by Pondicherry Roller Skating Association and both secured Bronze medals in our first participation itself.
2005 : Duo participated in State level championship on 11.12.2005 in the respective age group of son in 8to 10 yrs in Artistic category and self in above 16 yrs in speed category conducted by Pondicherry Roller Skating Association and son secured one gold, one silver and one Bronze medals, while father secured two bronze medals.
2006: Duo participated in 43rd National Roller Skating Championships held at Kolkata by RSFI ( Roller Skating Federation of India) in January 2006 in the respective age group of son in 8to 10 yrs in Aritistic category and father in above 16 yrs in speed category . Son secured one Gold Medal ( Which was first ever Gold medal of Puducherry state) in Artistic Indian Classical Dance roller skating , while father has participation in Speed Category Rink-1.
2008: Duo participated in State level championship on 29.12.2008 in the respective age group of son in 10 to 12 yrs in Artistic category and self in above 16 yrs in speed category conducted by Pondicherry Roller Skating Association ( PRSA) and son secured two gold medals, while father secured one silver and one bronze medal.
2009: Duo participated in State level championship on 06.12.2009 in the respective age group of son in 10 to 12 yrs in Artistic category and self in above 16 yrs in Roller Hockey category conducted by Pondicherry Roller Skating Association ( PRSA) and son secured four gold medals, while father become the Captain of the State Roller Hockey Team By this, Father won 6 Medals ( 1 Silver & 5 Bronze) and son won 12 Medals ( 6 Gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze) in the roller Skating Championships in National State representation as DUO.
Apart from this duo represented in Marathon and Rallies in Roller Skating at Pondicherry conducted by the clubs and Association in various occasions as listed in spread sheet. Kasirajan remains an inspiration not only to boys of girls of his age group but has also his father who came forward to learn roller skating at the age of 34 years, who never got a single certificate in sports before. To the surprise of many, his father overcame initial difficulties with valuable tips from his son and surprisingly won five bronze medals and one silver medal in the speed event in his age category in the state level meet during the years 2005 and 2008.
Thus son-father pair had entered into Limca Book of Records -2010 as “First father son roller skating duo” and certified as National Record, as well into “India Book of Records-2011”
