Today was the day of the 500mt for the Juniors, 1000mt for the Seniors, 10k elimination for Juniors and 10k points/elimination for Seniors.

After the morning’s heats we lived a great show from all the athletes. Power, technique and tactics were the protagonist of the races. In the long distance races Colombian supremacy made the difference in the group but some nice surprises happened. In the Junior Ladies the Colombian duo were just too strong and once they decide to start the final sprint no one could follow them. Gold for Maria Camila Vargas, silver for Mariana Chaparro and bronz for Ecuador with Fernanda Nycole Moncada.

For the Junior Men, history has been made. It hall happened in the last lap where a fall of the Ecuadorian and the Colombian change the final destiny of the race. Ecuador with Nicolas Garcia wins the gold medal, silver for Colombia with Sebastian Rodriguez and bronze for Rocher Matthis, France.

Fabriana Arias won the gold medal followed by her teammate Luz Karime Garzon. What an incredible race from them! Third place for Ho-Chen Yang, Chinese Taipei, the only one who could keep up in the last laps with the Colombian duo. This was Fabriana' 16th World Title. This one might be more special than the other ones as her son was here to cheer for her!

The Senior Men’s race was a really good one with a balance between the strength of all the skaters from all the countries. Daniel Zapata was, without any doubts, the strongest on the field but Jason Suttle and Martin Ferrie could make the race quite interesting: Gold, silver and bronze for them respectively.

The 500mt are always one of the greatest show. Gold and silver for Junior ladies went to Colombia Kollin Andrea Castro and Ana Sofia Ruiz; Bronze for Spain with Luisa Maria Gonzalez. In the Junior Men category same story with gold and silver to Colombia rhanks to Salomon Carballo and Elimelec Ospino; Bronze for the Italian talent Andrea Cremaschi.

The 1000mt closed the day with some amazing speed, overtaking and tactics. Big surprise in the Senior Ladies where, in a close finish, Ho-Chen Yang wins her second medal of the day and it’s gold! Second place for Maria Fernanda Timms and third place for Marie Dupuy.

The class of Pedro Causil is undeniable: winning the semi-final with a World Record and be crowned World Champion for the 19th time; Such a great athlete. The silver medal in the 1000mt went to Tsu-Cheng Chao form Chinese Taipei and the bronze medal to Gwendall Le Pivert.
