It has just concluded 2016 Inline Alpine (Slalom and Parallelslalom) World Championships helded in Unterensingen (Germany).

During the 4th and 5th of June the World Championships in Inline Alpine Parallelslalom and Slalom took place in Unterensingen (GER). Changing weather conditions gave the worlds´ best athletes a difficult challenge. Because of the weather conditions, which changed constantly, the race judge decided to flood the street permanently.
Not only the weather conditions were demanding but also the track itself. Unterensingen, known as the „Streif“ of Inline Alpine, was a real „hell ride“ for each athlete.
The most difficult part of the race track consists of a 90° curve with a slope of almost 18%. This was the place where most of the athletes crashed. Those who were able to pass the curve without any crash fought for the best placements.
On Saturday morning, the first World Cup of the season took place. The first Worlducp run has been used as the qualification run for the following Parallelslalom World Championships. In the women’s categorie, Jana Börsig (GER) reached the 1st place, Gabriela Kudelaskova (CZE) got the 2nd place and Katharina Hoffmann (GER) the 3rd place. The best athlete in the men´s class was Marco Walz (GER) who claimed the 1st place, followed by Massimiliano Losio (ITA) on the 2nd place and Moritz Doms on the 3rd place (GER).
After the World Cup, the breath-taking Parallelslalom started. The best 32 women and men of the qualification run started in pairs against each other. Claudia Wittmann (GER) claimed the world champion title in the women's category followed by Jana Börsig (GER) on the 2nd place and Elea Börsig (GER) on the 3rd place. Davis Zvejnieks (LAT) was the winner if the men´s class and therefore received his first world champion title. Marco Walz (GER) became Vice-champion followed by Moritz Doms (GER) on the 3rd place. Before the winner's ceremony, the presentation of the nations took place. Among them were Spain, Slovakia, Poland, Swiss, Serbia, Czech Republik, Latvia, Italy and Germany.
On Sunday, the weather did not get any better. The first run has been held dry, the second wet again which was very challenging for all competitors. World champion in the women's class became Katharina Hoffmann (GER), 2nd Claudia Wittmann (GER) and 3rd Lisa Wölfing GER). World Champion in the men´s category became for the second time after Cham 2012 Kristaps Zvejnieks (LAT), 2nd Moritz Doms (GER) and 3rd Jonas Börsig (GER).
The second part of the World Championships (Giant Slalom and Team) will take place from the 12th to the 14th of August in Spain (Villablino).
