Day one: Curtain-up. Golden Colombia!

The 2018 Artistic Skating World Championships started today. World level competitions will entertain fans and aficionados in the beautiful Vendéespace arena in Mouilleron-Le-Captif (France) until October 13. The fist ones getting in the rink have been the athletes from compulsory men and ladies. In junior men’s category Brayan Correno from Colombia shone and gained the gold medal, Davide Arminchiardi (Italy) gained the second step of the podium and Facundo Fina from Argentina completed the winning trio with a bronze medal. In junior women’s category Italy dominated the scene with gold and silver medals gained by Desiree Cocchi and Elettra Signorini. Bottom step of the podium for the Colombian Sabrina Mur. Inline competitions took the stage in the afternoon. Ladies provisional ranking is now leaded by the Italian Chiara Censori. Russia follows on the second and third place with Anna Semisynova and Veronika Kimont. Collin Montley from USA is temporarily leading Junior men’s competition, followed by Xan Roles from France and Bo-Yu Chen from Chinese Taipei. Anastasia Nosova from Russia took the lead of Senior Ladies category. Second place for Natalie Montley and third for the French Serena Giraud. Chinese Taipei gained first and third position in Senior Men with Yi-Fan Chen and Hung-Yu Chien, undermined by Antonio Panfili from Italy on the second place. Tomorrow program foresees Senior’s compulsory competitions in the morning and junior and senior Inline long program in the afternoon. Awarding ceremonies will take place for both Compulsory and Inline at the end of the competitions. 2018 Artistic Skating World Championships are broadcasted live streaming on World Skate TV.
