Day five: Colombia strikes again, unattainable Italy

Curtain falls also on this fifth competition day of the 2018 Artistic Skating World Championships. Brayan Carreno and Natalia Baldizzone Morales climbed the podium in Solo Dance.

SOLO DANCE JUNIOR. Things have been mixed up by free programs in Junior Ladies Solo Dance. The European Champion Natalia Baldizzone Morales from Spain, who ended up second yesterday, is now wearing a brand new gold medal. Chiara Giron got second (temporarily third yesterday), followed by the Portuguese Maria Beatriz Lopes Sousa who, due to some inaccuracies in today’s performance, lost two positions.

The defending World Champion Brayan Carreno (Colombia), confirms himself on the highest step of the podium with a perfect show at the expense of the Italian Mattia Qualizza who was on the first position yesterday. The Italian champion is a new comer in the World Championships. Huge comeback for his team mate Giovanni Piccolantonio who got third. The long day ended with the Awarding Ceremony.

JUNIOR SHORT PROGRAM. Temporary double shot for Italy in Ladies Short Program. World Champion Rebecca Tarlazzi is the provisional ranking leader, followed by Clarissa Bellagamba at her first intercontinental experience and Bruna De Castro Wurts (Brazil). Italy also leads Mens category with Alessandro Liberatore. Edgar Waterbor (Argentina) and Pau Garcia Domec (Spain) complete the provisional ranking.

INFO. Competitions will resume at 1.15 pm tomorrow in Vendéespace rink at Parc de Beaupuy in Mouilleron-Le-Capitf with Seniors Solo Style Dance. Junior Freeskating athletes will get on the rink with free programs at 5.50 pm, with the exception of the first 10 athletes of the ranking who will finish their competitions on October 9, starting from 5.05 pm. 2018 Artistic Skating World Championships are broadcasted live streaming on World Skate TV.
