WRG 2019 blew up the small Wheel in the heart of Barcelona

With just nine months remaining until the staging of the World Roller Games 2019, the city of Barcelona has already begun to display an enviable letter of introduction. As of today, an impressive banner is presenting this major roller sports event next year to citizens and tourists alike in the heart of the Catalan capital.

The corner of Avinguda Diagonal with Passeig de Gràcia, two of the main arteries of the Catalan capital, has been chosen as the site to display this impressively sized banner, whose dimensions are truly striking at first sight: 61.75 by 18.93 metres.

An extension that means the banner has had to be formed by three pieces covering both streets and their respective corners, composed in turn by fourteen cloths joined together by thermofusion. The image projected by the canvas includes iconic silhouettes of Barcelona, as well as various slogans of the event, such as the well-known “Passion for rollers”.

The printing of the banner required about seven litres of ink and it was manufactured by the company Sundisa and printed on mesh, a specific material for large banners located in places such as façades. From today, it has been displayed as a letter of introduction in the heart of Barcelona.
