The Rink Hockey World Championships are ready to roll in San Juan, Argentina, in what is the biggest skating sports event of the year: the World Skate Games 2022.

Senior World Championship (Male and Female), Intercontinental Championship (Male and Female), Challenger's Championship, and Under 19 Male World Championship, promise the most thrilling days in the weeks ahead.

Under 19 Male Championship – October 30th to November 5th – Venue: Aldo Cantoni

The younger ones will be the first to enter the rink on October 30th. The Spanish national team, the 2019 World Champion and the Portuguese national team, the European champion, are in Group A. Portugal will try to win the title, while Spain will try to renew it. Great Britain, Colombia and USA are the group opponents.

The host country team is in Group B. Argentina was the runner-up in Barcelona and will try to win the title after losing the final, in 2019, to the Spanish team. To do so, Argentina will have to beat the Group B opponents which are Italy, Chile, Mexico, and Switzerland.

Male Senior World Championship – November 7th to 13th – Venue: Aldo Cantoni

11 years after hosting a world championship (in 2011), San Juan is back to host the rink hockey world national teams.

Portugal will seek to renew the title won in Barcelona in 2019, now at the «home» of Argentina’s national team, to whom the Portuguese won the final that year, in a game that ended with a draw with no goals, decided only by penalties. To do so, Portugal will have to overcome opponents such as France – the European Championship runner-up –, Italy an opponent that should always be considered and Chile, in the group stage.

In Group B, exciting games are also expected with Spain and Argentina fighting for qualification, along with Angola and Mozambique. Argentina will try to conquer the title won for the last time in 2015, in front of their supporters. Spain will also try to regain the world title and relive the year 2011 final, when the team won the last game against Argentina, in the mythical Aldo Cantoni.

The Spanish national team has won the world championship the most, with 17 titles in its history, the last one won in 2017. Portugal comes in second, with 16. The host team has won five times, followed by Italy with four titles (the last one, won in 1997).

Female Senior World Championship – November 7th to 12th – Venue: UPCN Stadium and Aldo Cantoni

Spain is the current titleholder, after beating Argentina in the final, in 2019. In Barcelona, Argentina eliminated Chile, and Spain eliminated Italy, but in the final, Spain was more effective, winning 8-5 and conquering the title.

This year, Spain will face France, Portugal, and Italy in Group A, to reach the semi-finals. In group B, the clashes are between Argentina, Italy, Germany, and Colombia.

The Spanish national team is the one with the most world championships won, with a total of seven, followed by Argentina with five (the last in 2014).

The Female Senior World Championship semis and the final will be played, for the first time, in the legendary Aldo Cantoni.

Male and Female Intercontinental Championship – November 7th to 13th – Venues: La Superiora and UPCN Stadiums

In the men's competition, the countries classified between the 9th and 16th places in the ranking, are divided into two groups. The two group winners will join the World Championship quarter-finals. The remaining six teams will play in the quarter-finals of the competition, with the last two teams from the World Championship.

Group A includes the national teams of Brazil, Switzerland, Colombia, and Israel. Group B comprises Austria, Germany, Andorra, and Australia.

The female competition is played at the same time as the men's event. Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Switzerland are the participating teams.

Challenger's Championship – November 7th to 13th – Venue: Marcelo García Stadium

In this competition, five teams are playing in a group stage: the United States of America, Mexico, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Uruguay.
