Italy and Mexico were the first national teams to enter the rink, at the mythical Aldo Cantoni, for the World Skate Games 2022 first Rink Hockey competition: the U19 World Championship.

No big surprises concerning results in the first four games: Italy, Portugal, Spain and the host team, Argentina, won their matches, and they all confirmed their favouritism in the championship.

In the first game of the Group Stage, the Italian team had no difficulty in beating the opponent by 15-0 (half-time: 12-0) and winning the first three points in the competition. Italy was superior all the time, pressing hard the Mexican team and playing at a high pace, with the will to resolve the game in the first half.

In the second game of the afternoon, Portugal gave no chance to the USA team and won by a resounding 23-0 result (13-0 at half-time). The USA national team always played in defence, creating no difficulties to the fluid way of playing of the current European champions.

Great Britain and Spain played the third match of the opening day. Also, without major surprises, the Spanish team won by 1-11 (0-6 at half-time). The British team tried to fight here and there, but Spain’s high pressure and skills made all the difference in the game.

Last, but not least, Argentina’s debut in the championship. The host team did not disappoint in front of its supporters and won 0-11 (0-6 at half-time) against Switzerland. In the first minute of the second half, Argentina scored a hat-trick and made perfectly clear why it is one of the favourites to win the title.

Today, the competition continues, promising more exciting matches you cannot miss. Emphasis on the games between Spain and Portugal - the current World and European Champions - and also, Argentina vs Italy.
