It was a night of brillance as four World Champions were crowned at the 2022 World Skate Games in Junior and Senior Solo Dance for Ladies and Men. Redemption was earned, competition was fierce and the atmosphere was electric.

With three defending World Champions among the four events the question was if all would reign supreme or if new flags would be flown on top of the podium.

The Free Dance segment is always an action packed event as the skaters have five required elements to contend with along with the very important four scores of the Components. One mistake is enough to lose a medal placement. Thursday at the America Pavilion at Youth Olympic Park provided the setting for what proved to be a remarkable day of skating.

First up were the Junior Solo Ladies. After the Style Dance, defending World Champion Roberta Sasso of Italy found herself in a familiar position of first place. Sasso was a display of confidence and elegance in the Free Dance. Skating to Hope Is Not Blah Blah Blah, Sasso achieved a total combined score of 137.48 to earn her second consecutive title of World Champion. Lidia Vazquez of Spain earned the Silver Medal with 120.23 total points. Vazquez skated with strength and speed to capture a podium position. Caterina Craveiro of Portugal skated a dynamic and animated free dance to the music of Road Runner/Help a Girl Choose.  Scoring a total of 115.85 points, Craveiro earned the Bronze Medal.
