The day started with the worst of the conditions at the track of Vicente Lopez. From the very hot and sunny day of yesterday to a very windy, rainy and cold one which made postponed all the races.
In the afternoon, the rain disappeared, and, in the end, a shy sun showed up.
The wind still blew very strong with gusts who reached 40km/h, but the skaters stoically raced. And what a show!
500mt for Junior and 1000mt for the Senior category were on the menu. The weather conditions played an important role through all the races.
SENIOR 1000mt
In the Senior 1000mt, in both ladies and men category, Chinese Taipei Team was absolutely the smartest and strongest team out there. Meng-Chu Li, brought home the gold medal, skating a real strong race, gaining positions lap by lap and finishing in front of everyone.
The men 1k was leaded all the way by Duccio Marsili until the last corner, where Korean Cheolwon Jung made a strong overtaking but got DQ for fault. Eventually, Tsu-Cheng Chao with a fast last straight passed Duccio, winning another gold medal for Chinese Taipei.

JUNIOR 500mt
The 500mt were characterized by gusts of wind who made the races even harder.
In the Junior category, Nicolas Barrios wins the βonlyβ gold medal of the day for Colombia. Followed by Gyuyeon Hwang from Korea and Wang Yu from Chinese Taipei. The other Colombian in the final got DQ for fault at the start.
The girls of Chinese Taipei made an exceptional work winning gold and silver in the 500mt, showing how strong and resilient they are in such difficult weather conditions. Third place for Colombia Samanta Ramirez and 4th place for Poland Wiktoria Dabrowska, first time on a final at World level.
