Yuri Bernardi, 2005 European dance champion in couple with his sister  Alice, passed away on  January 31st  2006, at  the age of just  22 years, for  injuries due to a car accident.

Yuri, was born in a family very fond of artistic skating (his  father Danilo, European champion and  bronze medal at world in dance couple; his mother Miriam national team skater for pairs); he has been always showing, as a child, athletic ability and great passion for many sports. In dance skating , he reached the 2001 European junior title and in 2005 the senior European title.

He was a student at the faculty of physical education and wanted to get specialization  in rehabilitation from sports accidents.

At his death the family decided to donate his organs to save or improve many people’s lives and also have been producing , since January  2007, the benefit show "Yuri, a forever life – Concert on eight wheels." All the greatest skating champions want to attend to this show and with them the great artists of classical music and opera, all united both in the memory of Yuri and taking forward the charitable purpose of the show:

  • sponsorship of two Bolivian children;

  • houses buiding instead of huts in Hardeman village in Bolivia;

  • projects for the purchase of medical equipment for the hospital's transplant center of Bologna;

  • aid to the earthquake stricken Abruzzo.
