Under sunny skies, the Downhill Skateboarders finally got their shot at official time trials. Half of the riders would be eliminated after two attempts, with the rest qualifying for tomorrow’s race. However, only the elite top 10 from the early rounds would advance to the coveted top 10 shoot-out. Katerina Hill took the fastest lap in the women's group, putting down a 1:17.34. Selina Theiler and Lisa Peters were close behind, in one of the largest women’s categories the sport has seen in years. For the men, it was Adrien “Frenchy” Paynel who walked away with the gold medal for time trials, with a steaming 1:14.01. Diego Poncelet followed, and the young Andréas
Bouclier rounded out third. Heats are sure to be fast and tight tomorrow for Downhill Skateboarding, Street Luge, and Downhill Inline.
