REGISTRATION  INFORMATION

2007 FIRS JUNIOR MEN WORLD INLINE ROLLER HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

The dates are firmly set for a practice on July 25 and competition will begin on July 26 through 29. Age qualification for the 2007 Junior Inline Hockey World Championships is at least 14 years but no more than 19 years of age, calculated as of January 1, 2007.

This will be the first time that the Junior World Competition is held in Europe and has been upgraded to the status of “World Championship” from its previous status as a “Cup”.  Official FIRS World Championship medals will be awarded.  Referee selection and assignments will be the responsibility of CIRILH Vice President Gilbert Portier of France, who also serves as FIRS European Continental Confederation President of Inline Hockey.  The German Federation will also be host for the 2008 FIRS Senior World Inline Hockey Championships in the same city of Düsseldorf.

The German Organizing Committee will arrange a bus shuttle to the venues. Final arrangements will be made contingent upon the number of teams that will register.

VENUE:  Dirk Schulz tells us that the organizers will have the opportunity to use one of the rinks at the "Brehmstrasse" Düsseldorf (two rink facility) as the ice season does not begin until the 1st of August. It will be the newer facility built in 2004. The whole venue offers more changing rooms and additional rooms than the "Benrath" venue, so teams can deposit their clothing at the venue, which will be much more comfortable for teams and daily operation. Unfortunately this part of the venue does not allow a "high/moderate" number of spectator attendance, so the organizers will use the rink in "Benrath" as a second rink for final games which are of greater public interest. The "2005 World Games" tile flooring used in Duisburg will be placed in Benrath. At the "Brehmstrasse" the same type of court will be installed.

The floor size will thus be full use of the ice hockey surface and surrounding boards.

TEAM REGISTRATION FEE AND APPLICATION DEADLINE:  The 2007 Men’s World Junior Inline Hockey Championship team fee will be 500 Euros, payable directly to the German Organizing Committee.  Contact Dirk Schulz via email for information where to send the registration fee.  Note below that the special pricing for the IBIS Hotel only is guaranteed until 25 April 2007.  After that date you may not get that attractive rate since the rooms remaining go on general sale.  You may register your team for the Junior World Championship as late as 31 May 2007, however your hotel selection at that late date may be severely limited.  Dirk Schulz email address is: This email address is being protected from spambots. HOTEL FOR JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - The following hotel has been contracted for special rates for the Junior World Championship teams. The host organizers will arrange transportation to and from the airport to the hotel and daily to and from the hotel to the playing venue. The hotel has excellent connections to public transport and there are many eating establishments near the hotel. Everyone will enjoy a great variety starting with fast food and ending up with fine cuisine restaurants. As Düsseldorf is a capital with many state authorities and hosting a lot of companies, one can find a great choice of canteens near all hotels allowing public access and offering low cost menus (from 3 Euro on, a three course meal may cost approximately 5 Euro as an example). The old town of Düsseldorf, major sightseeing highlights and shops can be reached within walking distance. The traveling time to the supposed venue is less than 10 minutes.

Hotel 2 stars (IBIS Hauptbahnhof/Zentrum) (located approx. 2,9 km from the competition venue), there is available 80 rooms, in the heart of Düsseldorf near the main railway station
