Electoral Procedures and Confirmed Adjustments
The election process included the application of specific provisions under the Election Rules and Procedure, including national federation representation limitations and adjustments in certain categories.
In Artistic, the national federation limitation was applied, with Nicola Marenda confirmed as having received more votes than fellow Italian candidate Caterina Artoni.
In Scootering, the national federation limitation was applied to Jayden Sharman (Great Britain), while Lucy Evans was confirmed as the sole eligible female candidate.
In Rink Hockey, following Raquel Botelho dos Santos’ decision not to accept her election, World Skate applied the provisions concerning unfilled representation and confirmed João Rodrigues alongside Khaled Samir. As a result, both elected representatives are male, constituting an exceptional adjustment to the original gender allocation, as provided by the Rules and procedure.
In Skateboarding, a tie was resolved following Andy Macdonald’s voluntary withdrawal of his candidature, leading to the confirmation of Tommy Fynn as the second elected male representative.
The election report also confirms that Alena Efimova was the sole eligible female candidate in Freestyle, while Paul Price was the sole eligible male candidate in Slalom.
Strengthening Athlete Representation Across Sports
World Skate congratulates all elected representatives and thanks every athlete who participated in the election process, whether as a candidate or a voter.
