First day in Nanjing: Yesterday, the exciting ceremony officially opened the second edition of the Youth Olympic Games here in Nanjing. The stadium was completely full and the audience enjoyed a wonderful performance entirely focused on the achievement of dreams:
a group of happy young people are pursuing their dream, and evetually lighting the YOG flame or the "Light of Future".
FIRS is attending the YOG as one of the 4 showcase sports in the SportsLab area. The activities started soon in the morning following a scheme that will be repeated randomly in the next 14 days: training, showcasing, initiation to the audience and the athletes both in the morning and in the afternoon.
Our athletes are having, for the very first time, the great opportunity to show the great potential of inline speed skating: many kids, girls and boys were so fascinated by the training sessions and the exhibition that stayed in line for a long time just to get the chance to wear skates and feel for real all the emotions that our sport can give.
