Following the decisions adopted by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board on 7 July 2026, the World Skate Executive Board approved on 6 August the proposal to remove the restrictions previously imposed on Russian athletes and support personnel, as already done for Belarus. Consequently, Russian athletes will be permitted to compete under their national flag, uniform, and anthem.
