Dear friends, we are back from the SportAccord Convention which took place in Sochi and this year more than ever I am proud to tell you about a FIRS increasingly present, active and respected in the institutional sports world: it has come to light indeed, with no doubt, that the policy and...                          

networking operation that we are carrying out for years, is finally beginning to produce effects and tangible fruits: I think, for example, about the widespread appreciation for the Roller Games project that, as you well know, I have always considered the springboard for an effective and efficient improvement in our world, or about the great increasing interest for the FIRS world Cup, a new project that is going to be realized.

In less than four months, we have been able not only to define the first stages of the World Cup, but also to assign the first three editions of the Roller Games in three important cities of three Continents with a great sporting culture: Barcelona, Nanjing and Lima!

In fact, just during the SportAccord Convention we signed the agreement with the President of the Peruvian Olympic Committee, José Quiñones and the Regidor of the City of Lima Carlos Fernando Canales Anchorena for five stages in five years of the World Cup and for the third edition of the Roller Games. And in  these days I am leaving for Asia to sign the final agreement that will define Nanjing as Capital of Roller Sports with a series of events that will culminate with the second edition of the Roller Games in 2019.

In a time in which it is increasingly difficult to find places willing to organize class sporting events, the flexibility and the quality of what the Roller Sports may offer  are opening up every day new prospects, that will allow  us to distinguish ourselves in the international sports scene.

A confirmation in this sense also comes from my appointment by SportAccord as Chairman of the Urban Games Committee: a great recognition to me  as well as to the Roller Sports as leading disciplines of the more attractive multisports events  in the coming years!

I will not tell you about the many meetings which we attended, but about the most important ones, including the meeting with the Russian Deputy Minister of Sport, Mr. Pavel Kolobkov, to implement the Roller Sports in Russia: a continuously growing movement, especially in disciplines that use in-line skates, that attract their attention and that they would like to consolidate. And, certainly, I cannot overlook the meeting with Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah who, in the wake of the great success of the Roller Sports in Nanjing, confirmed our possible inclusion in the Asian Games starting from  Jakarta 2018.

And finally, the Olympic Project.
After a meeting with the Sports Director of the Organizing Committee of Tokyo 2020, Koji Murofushi, we realized and sent a video ad hoc (that you can see here)in order to  present in these days to his Executive Board the proposal for the inclusion of the Roller Sports in the Olympic Games and we are awaiting further directives from the IOC on how the International Federations will have to move, to take further steps.

You can understand then, dear friends, why I am increasingly convinced that the great work and the great efforts made in these years are finally giving the results we all hoped for!

Desde Sochi  llegan grandes confirmaciones para los Roller Sports

Queridos amigos,
estamos de vuelta de la Convención de SportAccord que tuvo lugar en Sochi y este año, por primera vez, puedo contaros con gran orgullo de la  FIRS como de una federacion cada vez más presente, activa y respetada en el mundo de las instituciones deportivas: Al parecer y sin lugar a dudas, la operación política y la creación de redes que estamos llevando a cabo desde hace años, está empezando a producir resultados y efectos tangibles. Pienso, por ejemplo, a la apreciación generalizada para el proyecto de los Roller Games,  que todos ustedes saben,  yo siempre he considerado una plataforma de lanzamiento para un cambio de rumbo en nuestro mundo, o al interés general para la Copa del Mundo de FIRS, un nuevo proyecto que ahora está tomando forma concreta.

En menos de cuatro meses, hemos sido capaces no sólo de definir las primeras etapas de la Copa del Mundo, sino también de asignar las tres primeras ediciones de los Roller Games que se llevarán a cabo en tres grandes ciudades de tres distintos continentes y que cuentan con una gran cultura deportiva: Barcelona, Nanjing y Lima!

De hecho, durante la Convención de SportAccord firmamos un acuerdo con el Presidente del Comité Olímpico Peruano, José Quiñones y con el Regidor de la ciudad de Lima, Carlos Fernando Canales Anchorena par la realización de cinco etapas de la Copa del Mundo a lo largo de cinco años y para la tercera edición de los Roller Games.

Y en estos días saldré para Asia para firmar el acuerdo final que define Nanjing como Capital de los Roller Sports, y que prevé la celebración de una serie de eventos que culminarán con la segunda edición de los Roller Games en 2019.
En un momento en que cada vez es más difícil encontrar entidades dispuestas a organizar eventos deportivos de cierto nivel, la flexibilidad y la calidad de la oferta de las disciplinas de los Roller Sports nos están abriendo cada día nuevas perspectivas, lo que nos permite distinguirnos en la escena deportiva a nivel internacional.

Una confirmación en este respecto nos la dio mi nombramiento por parte SportAccord como Director del Comité de los Juegos Urbanos: un gran reconocimiento, no sólo a la persona, sino también a los Roller Sports que serán las disciplinas deportivas líderes del evento polideportivo más atractivo de los próximos años!

No os contaré de las muchas reuniones en las que participamos, sino de los resultados que obtuvimos, a partir del más importantes que, sin duda, fue el encuentro con el Viceministro de Deportes de Rusia, Sr. Kolobkov Pavel, para el implemento del patinaje en Rusia: un movimiento continuo crecimiento, sobre todo con respecto a las disciplinas que utilizan patines en línea, que atrajo su atención y que le gustaría consolidar. Y, desde luego, no puedo pasar por alto de la reunión con el jeque Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, quien a raíz de la gran éxito que el patinaje tuvo en Nanjing, nos confirmó nuestra posible inclusión en los Juegos Asiáticos ya desde 2018 en Yakarta.

Y, por último, el Proyecto Olímpico.
Tras una reunión con el Director de Deportes del Comité Organizador de Tokio 2020, Koji Murofushi, creamos y publicamos un video ad hoc (que se puede ver en este enlace: http://firs.rollersports.tv/) para presentar a su Consejo Ejecutivo la propuesta para la inclusión de los Roller Games en los Juegos Olímpicos y estamos a la espera de recibir más directivas por parte del COI, sobre cómo las Federaciones Internacionales tendrán que moverse para seguir en este proceso.

Yo creo que sea bastante claro entonces, queridos amigos, porque cada vez estoy más convencido de que el gran trabajo y los  esfuerzos realizados en estos años finalmente están dando los resultados que todos esperábamos!
