Today, 3rd October, the World Skate Congress took place in Asunción, Paraguay, bringing together the Federation’s leadership and representatives from across the world at a pivotal moment for the organization and the global skating community.

During the proceedings, President Sabatino Aracu presented the progress of a rapidly growing movement, now bringing together 140 National Federations, building on the success of the Paris 2024, World Skate is now looking ahead to the next milestones of its Olympic journey: Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032. At the same time, the World Skate Games 2026 are taking place right here in Paraguay, with 91 participant countries, following last night’s Opening Ceremony and bringing the global World Skate community together in Asunción.

A significant part of the Congress was also dedicated to the continued modernization of the Federation. Delegates approved a series of amendments to the World Skate Statutes and Regulations, further strengthening the organization’s governance framework and ensuring continued alignment with International Olympic Committee principles and guidelines.

These developments provide an even stronger foundation for World Skate’s future, supporting sound and sustainable governance, reinforcing the central role of athletes, and advancing key strategic priorities, including financial sustainability and the development of adaptive skateboarding.
