Beijing, People’s Republic of China, has welcomed the world as the 2025 World Artistic Championships officially commenced, with the Inline Events taking center stage.
Amidst proudly waving flags, national anthems echoing through the Beijing Yanqing District Comprehensive Gymnasium of the Fitness Center, and medals awarded to the champions, the 69th edition of the World Championships is now officially underway.
The medal rounds began with the Junior Ladies Inline event, where Spain’s India Gonzalez shone brightly, earning gold with a score of 132.94 points. Performing to The Nutcracker, Gonzalez captivated the audience with elegance and delight. Italy claimed the remaining podium spots, with Rachele Bianchi taking silver with 116.53 points skating to Whispers of a Butterfly, and Sofia De Lazzari earning bronze with 100.31 points for her expressive performance to Climate Change.
In the Junior Mens Inline competition, Nicolas Schiavon secured Italy’s first gold of the tournament with his skate to Les Miserables, scoring 98.99 points. Hsin-Chiao Lee of Chinese Taipei captured silver with 71.65 points, earning the host continent’s first medal, while Jeremy Liu of the USA took bronze with 59.11 points in his World Championship debut, performing to Riverdance.
The Senior Ladies Inline title once again went to defending champion Paula Romaguera of Spain. Skating to Game of Thrones, she scored 126.30 points to retain her crown. Italy continued its strong showing with Clara Baratonni, who earned silver with 117.61 points for her passionate interpretation of Carmen. Sofia Ciacia added another bronze to Italy’s medal count, finishing with 114.46 points.
The night concluded with the Senior Mens Inline event, where Elvis Martinello of Italy delivered a powerful performance to Time to claim gold and the title of World Champion. His inspired skate earned 165.45 points, lifting him from second after the short program to the top of the podium. Spain’s David Gutierrez took silver with 158.34 points, while Yi-Fan Chen of Chinese Taipei earned 138.75 points and the bronze, the nation’s second medal of the evening.

Four podiums have been filled and new World Champions crowned after two thrilling days of Inline events.
