World Skate is proud to announce that Blading Cup Asia has become an officially sanctioned World Skate event, bringing one of roller freestyle's most influential gatherings into the international federation framework recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The event will take place on August 1-2, 2026, in Jakarta, Indonesia, at Cibis Park, sanctioned as a World Skate Challenger, giving athletes a competitive platform under internationally recognized standards and connecting the sport's culture and progression to the global stage.
Men's, Women's, Junior Men's and Junior Women's athletes will compete in the Street discipline, with up to 20,000 World Ranking points on the line for 1st place in each category, contributing to the 2025-2026 World Skate Rankings. Registration is handled by the Local Organising Committee and is open from May 27 to July 27, 2026.
Since its founding in 2011 as a grassroots inline skating gathering in Downtown Santa Ana, California, Blading Cup has grown into one of the sport's most impactful international events, a celebration of skating culture, creativity, and community, bringing together elite athletes, brands, fans, artists, and innovators from around the world.
"Blading Cup has always been about creating opportunities and helping push the culture and sport forward," said Jon Julio. "Becoming part of the World Skate family through Blading Cup Asia represents an exciting step that strengthens pathways for athletes while continuing to honor the creativity and spirit that make our community unique."
Blading Cup Asia will continue to deliver the experience the event is known for: world-class competition, product launches, community engagement, and live entertainment, now with the added significance of international federation recognition. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding opportunities for athletes and supporting the development of skating across Asia and worldwide.
