World Skate Academy has opened registrations for its 2026 Roller Freestyle courses, a global education program built for judges, coaches and athletes who want to raise the standard of the discipline worldwide.
At the heart of the program is a ten-lesson course covering the fundamentals of judging in Roller Freestyle. It moves from the basics, an introduction to the discipline and an overview of its formats, through to the judging system, criteria and duties, with dedicated lessons on judging Park, Street and Vert. Every lesson closes with a short evaluation based on its content, and each comes with downloadable materials in PDF and PowerPoint, plus a “Discussion” space where participants can share questions and compare notes.
The course is open to everyone, and every participant who completes it receives a Certificate of Participation, available directly in their Academy profile. But the program also serves a bigger purpose: building an international database of judge candidates. Each National Federation can nominate up to five people who, after completing the course and passing a final exam, will be recognized as potential World Skate judges for officially sanctioned Roller Freestyle events. National Federations have until 6 July 2026 to submit their proposed judges.
All lessons are pre-recorded, so participants can follow them whenever they choose across the four-week window. The course will be available to purchase online from 15 June to 6 July 2026 and accessible until 11 July. The Assessment Test follows on 12 July, with two sessions to choose from (9:00 or 15:00 CET). Lessons are delivered in English.
The entry fee is 130 USD for the full set of ten lessons, payable directly on the platform via PayPal or credit/debit card, no PayPal account required.
