The Inline Freestyle World Championships 2025 kicked off in spectacular fashion in Singapore on December 1st, bringing together 370 athletes from 32 countries across 5 continents for four days of elite competition from the 1st to the 4th of December
A CELEBRATION OF GLOBAL UNITY AND SPORTING EXCELLENCE
President of Singapore Roller Sports federation, Eddie Chua welcomed athletes and officials with words that captured the spirit of the championships: "We are deeply privileged to host this prestigious global event, where the finest athletes gather to showcase their exceptional talent in our sport. Roller sports Federation has my great pleasure and to be the organiser of this, which is hosting this very exceptional competition."
Chua emphasized Singapore's commitment to the sport: "From Singapore, I extend filled and a huge made it passion, dedication, for our athletes, welcome. May your days in Singapore be and with great performances, new friendships, warm atmosphere."
Inline Freestyle Technical Chair Wei Feng Gu "Kelvin Koo" emphasized the discipline's global reach and the importance of the event: "We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the organizer of this competition. We would like to remind you that this championship may be the very best in the world. We wish all participating athletes the very best in world championship respect your competence and fully embody the true spirit of freestyle skating."
World Skate President Sabatino Aracu echoed these sentiments, highlighting the championship's significance: "In recent years, inline freestyle skating has experienced a remarkable growth and has captured the hearts of communities, enthusiasts around the world. The 2025 Inline Freestyle World Championship is a much-anticipated event, the skating brings joy. Over the next athletes compete for global passion as they remains dedicated to promoting and advancing the discipline of Inline Freestyle skating worldwide."
Day one showcased the pinnacle of speed slalom and free jump disciplines, with athletes delivering breathtaking performances that set the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable championship.
SPEED SLALOM: PRECISION AND SPEED AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL
In speed slalom, athletes navigate 20 cones spaced 80cm apart on a single foot, where every millisecond counts and each mistake costs 0.2 seconds. The finals delivered nail-biting competition across all categories, but China dominated the games.
