World Skate is proud to support the continued development of urban sports in Paraguay as Asunción prepares to welcome the World Skate Games 2026. Through investment in new and upgraded Park and Street facilities, the Games will not only provide world-class conditions for international competition, but also contribute to a lasting sporting legacy for local athletes, young people and communities.

As part of the preparation for the Games, the city and authorities are advancing a shared urban sports venue model based around two dedicated fields of play within the Paraguay Olympic Park. Both Street and Park facilities will be used across Skateboarding, Scootering and Roller Freestyle, creating a sustainable, efficient, and future-focused model for the delivery of urban sports at an international level.

The investment reflects a long-term vision for urban sport in Paraguay. By developing facilities that serve multiple disciplines, the city is creating infrastructure that will continue delivering value beyond the World Skate Games 2026, supporting participation, training, talent development, national events and future international opportunities.

World Skate is working directly with the city, authorities, and construction experts throughout the development process to ensure the fields of play are designed and prepared in line with the technical requirements of each sport. This collaborative approach reflects World Skate’s commitment not only to delivering world-class events, but also to supporting host cities in creating meaningful sporting legacies.

The Park World Championships for Skateboarding, Scootering and Roller Freestyle will take place on a brand new, purpose-built bowl-style field of play. The new Park course will be developed to provide a high-quality competition environment for all three sports while becoming a long-term asset for the development of urban sports in Paraguay.

The Street World Championships will also be delivered on a shared field of play. These events will take place on an existing facility, which will be refurbished and enhanced ahead of the Games. This investment ensures that existing infrastructure is strengthened and adapted for international competition, while continuing to serve athletes and communities after the event.

Sharing fields of play in both Park and Street competition disciplines demonstrates a sustainable model for urban sports development, showing how Skateboarding, Scootering and Roller Freestyle can use common infrastructure while maintaining the distinct sporting identity of each discipline. This approach maximises the long-term value of venue investment and supports a more durable model for future events, training programmes and community access.

For Scootering and Roller Freestyle especially, it also highlights the adaptability of the disciplines by demonstrating their ability to compete on a variety of styles of field of play, opening up new opportunities for future competitions, athlete development, and the continued growth of each sport.

The World Skate Games are not only a platform on which the world’s best athletes compete, but also an opportunity to accelerate the growth of urban sports in host cities and regions around the world. In Asunción, the new and upgraded facilities will help create new pathways for young people to access urban sports, support the development of local and regional athletes, and strengthen the city’s position as an emerging hub for Skateboarding, Scootering and Roller Freestyle.

Further details regarding the final layouts and technical specifications of the Park and Street fields of play will be shared in due course through bulletins and official World Skate communication channels.
