In rink hockey, the four semi-finalists battling for the medals have been decided. They are once again the four leading nations in rink hockey at both World Championships: Argentina, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Italy-Portugal (20:00 local time) and Argentina-Spain (17:30) will be the two semi-finals in the Under-19 World Championship at COP Arena, while at the Women’s World Championship in SND Arenita, the semi-finals will be Spain-Portugal (15:00) and Argentina-Italy (17:30). In the women’s competition, Spain and Italy won their groups with perfect records, earning 15 and 12 points respectively. Spain had a rest day on the final day of the qualifying round, while Italy beat Colombia 1-0. Argentina claimed a clear 4-0 win over Chile in the decisive match for second place in Group A. Portugal, meanwhile, beat Mexico 19-1, while Switzerland and France played out an exciting 3-3 draw. Brazil beat India 11-1. Chile, France and Switzerland in Group A, along with Colombia, Brazil, Mexico and India, will play for places from fifth to eleventh (see schedule). As for the Under-19 World Championship, Italy, Portugal and Spain each recorded a significant win, while the most thrilling match, between France and Argentina, was won 5-4 by the South Americans thanks to two goals from Bautista Romero, after an intense tussle that was decided only halfway through the second half. Italy had no trouble beating Colombia 13-1 (Reniero and Cardella scored three goals each); Portugal beat Switzerland 6-2 (Nunes and Almeida scored twice each); and Spain won 16-1 against India (Bouda, Orus and Castro scored three goals each). France-India (13:00) and Colombia- Switzerland (15:15) will be the semi-finals for places fifth to eighth.
