Saturday night at Colle Oppio Park, beneath the glowing arches of the Colosseum, was nothing short of electrifying as top athletes from around the globe battled it out for the coveted Scootering Street World Championship titles. The crowd was buzzing with anticipation, and the athletes did not disappoint, delivering a night of jaw-dropping tricks, fierce competition, and history-making moments.

Junior World Championship: French Domination

The evening kicked off with the Junior World Championship, where French rider Leonard Bometon blew away the competition, scoring an impressive 178.40 points—an astonishing 21 points ahead of the nearest contender. His dominant performance easily secured him the title of Junior World Champion. But the battle for the remaining podium spots was anything but easy. France continued its sweep, with Jules Boi Frieh taking the silver medal with a score of 157.20, and Luka Noel rounding out the podium with 154.80, earning the bronze.

Women’s World Championship: A Battle to the End

Next up was the highly anticipated Women’s World Championship, and it was an unforgettable final. The riders left it all on the course, each determined to claim a medal, but in the end, American Mia Catalano defended her title and became the first-ever back-to-back Women’s Street World Champion. 

The competition was fierce. French rider Romane Gilliet had been sitting in the top spot after landing an impressive set of best tricks. With the pressure mounting, Mia Catalano had one last chance to steal the victory. On her final attempt, she landed a flawless nose blunt down the big hubba, earning her a score of 42.65—just enough to propel her back into first place, securing the gold and etching her name in scootering history.

Men’s Street Final: A Spectacle Under the Lights

The grand finale of the night was the Men’s Street Final, and it was nothing short of spectacular. If you weren’t in Colle Oppio to witness it live, you missed a breathtaking show. The riders were relentless, attacking every ramp, rail, and ledge with precision and creativity. The course had never been ridden with such intensity.

As the night drew on, the energy only escalated during the best trick section. Riders were feeding off the crowd's excitement, pushing the limits with every attempt. When the dust settled, France’s Lucas Di Meglio emerged victorious, clinching his second consecutive World Championship title, making him the first-ever Men’s Street rider to achieve back-to-back golds. Hot on his heels was Eden Gagliano from Great Britain, who delivered a stellar performance to earn the silver medal, while another Frenchman, Alexandre Bailly, showed remarkable grit by capturing bronze despite competing with multiple broken bones in his wrist from a previous injury.

A Night for the Ages
