The Scootering Pro Tour event in Shanghai, China, brought together some of the world’s top riders for an intense weekend of competition. While excitement built throughout the week, unpredictable weather posed a challenge. Rain plagued the event from start to finish, but the competition pressed forward with clear skies during the key rounds. Unfortunately, persistent rain forced the cancellation of the final round, leaving the semi-final results to determine the official standings.

Rain fell intermittently throughout the week, adding tension to the event as we closely monitored the conditions. Despite the unpredictable weather, we took advantage of the dry windows, ensuring that the qualifying and semi-final rounds took place on a dry course. Riders performed at their highest level, delivering the action for the fans and kids watching the event.

However, on the day of the final, the rain became unyielding. With no dry window in sight and rider safety a top priority, the decision was made to cancel the final round. As a result, the results of the semi-final became the official podium standings for the event.

With the final round canceled, it was the semi-final performances that determined the top riders. Lucas Di Meglio of France took 1st place with a remarkable run that combined technical mastery and flawless execution. Known for his precision and innovative trick combinations, Di Meglio’s performance stood out even in a field of world-class competitors.

Securing 2nd place was Cory Griffiths from New Zealand, whose dynamic and bold riding impressed both judges and fans alike. Griffiths brought a unique blend of creativity and power, making him one of the standout riders of the weekend.

Completing the podium in 3rd place was Alexandre Bailly, also from France. Bailly’s smooth style and impressive trick selection earned him high marks throughout the competition, cementing his place among the best. This was Bailly’s second podium in the last three weeks as we just saw him take 3rd place at World Skate Games in Rome back in September.

Beyond his victory in Shanghai, Lucas Di Meglio also made history by securing the title of 2024 Men’s Street World Champion. This achievement capped off an extraordinary year for the French rider, who consistently delivered top performances throughout the season. His ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to various competition environments propelled him to the top of the rankings, earning him the title of number 1 ranked Men’s Street Rider in the Pro Tour rankings.

Di Meglio’s journey to becoming the world’s top street rider has been nothing short of impressive. His technical skill, creativity, and ability to execute difficult tricks with consistency have set him apart from his peers. His win in Shanghai, despite the weather-related challenges, is a fitting end to a season where he redefined what’s possible in street scootering.
