The world's best scootering and roller freestyle riders are heading to Japan this month for the World Skate Scootering and Roller Freestyle World Championships, taking place from November 21–27, 2025, at Sakai Urban Sports Park in Sakai, Ibaraki, Japan. Nearly 270 riders from 34 countries will compete across multiple divisions for the ultimate honor: to be crowned World Champion.
SCOOTERING: 198 Riders, 24 Countries, Six World Titles
Nearly 200 scooter riders from 24 countries will compete across six divisions: Men's Street, Men's Park, Women's Street, Women's Park, Junior Street, and Junior Park. With its world-class facilities and growing urban sports culture, Sakai is becoming a new global hub for action sports, and this event is set to be one of the highlights of the international scootering calendar.
Among the returning champions, Jayden Sharman from the United Kingdom will defend his title in Men's Park. Known for his powerful amplitude and technical precision, Sharman remains one of the sport's most exciting park riders. In the Women's Park division, Claire Parks from the United States returns to competition after recovering from a broken ankle, aiming to reclaim her world title with trademark style and determination.
In the street disciplines, Lucas Di Meglio of France brings his creative and polished approach as the reigning Men's Street World Champion, while Mia Catalano from the United States represents the women's field as the defending Women's Street champion, known for her consistency and progressive trick combinations.
This year's field will also see an exciting shift as Taj Shambrook, last year's Junior Park World Champion from Australia, moves up to the senior division—a major step for one of the sport's most promising young riders.
The lineup in Sakai features some of the deepest talent ever seen at a World Championship. Key riders to watch include Revin Cachat from the United States, a Men's Park powerhouse with fearless execution; Jack Walsh, also from the United States, a rising name in Men's Street with explosive style; and Matěj Pekárek from the Czech Republic, who will compete in both Park and Street, showcasing his impressive versatility.
Also drawing attention are Sophie Molyneux from the United Kingdom, a standout in Women's Street known for her smooth technical riding; Jordan Clark from the United Kingdom, a five-time Men's Park World Champion and a legend of the sport; and Jonathan Perroni of France, another top contender bringing his trademark precision and flow to the Men's Street competition.
THE VENUE: Sakai Urban Sports Park
Sakai Urban Sports Park provides the perfect stage for this elite competition. The venue is uniquely designed with three distinct sections that highlight the full range of modern freestyle scootering and roller freestyle.
The Senior Park course is the same layout used for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic BMX Freestyle competition, offering massive transitions, large quarters, and lines built for big air and technical combinations. The Junior Park section, located in the outdoor area of the facility, provides a purpose-built space tailored for younger riders, encouraging progression while maintaining professional-level design and flow. Completing the setup is the Street section, a world-class plaza filled with rails, ledges, and banks—the ultimate playground for technical precision and creative riding.
Japan's continued investment in urban sports, bolstered by World Skate's long-term commitment to the region, sets the stage for a week of progression, style, and world-class performance.
A WEEK TO REMEMBER
From November 21 to 27, the world's focus will be on Sakai as champions defend, newcomers rise, and nearly 290 riders battle for world titles across two disciplines. With international pride, innovation, and passion driving every run, the 2025 World Skate Scootering and Roller Freestyle World Championships promise to be a defining moment for action sports and one of the most exciting contests of the year.
