Olympic gold medallists Arisa Trew and Yuto Horigome have both been nominated for the Laureus Action Sportsperson Of The Year award 2025!
2024 winner Trew capped a remarkable year for the Antipodean youngster which saw her win two OQS Park victories, an Olympic gold medal, two X Games golds, being crowned Vert World Champion at WSG Italia in Rome- and then rounding out the year by winning Bowl, Vert and Best trick at Exposure in California.
Japan's double Olympic gold medallist Horigome created one of the Paris Games' highlights with his come-from behind victory against all odds in the most charged skateboarding contest ever.
The award, given to "the sportsperson who best demonstrates supreme athletic performance and achievement in action sports" boasts previous winners including surfing legend Kelly Slater, so Arisa and Yuto are in august company!
We at World Skate wish both of them every success.
