The last day of road competition in Nanjing

The adverse weather conditions affected this day of competitions too. In spite of the program, the race started at 12.00 PM with the 20,000 mt Elimination Senior Men. This game was followed by the Junior 1 Lap Circuit, from the 1/16 Series to the Final and by the Junior and Senior W/M 5.000 mt Relay, from the Series to the Final.

20.000 mt Elimination Senior Men
The 20,000 mt Elimination Senior Men resulted in a challenge between Colombian and French athletes, with the other competing athletes struggling to keep up with them and being left behind at the final lap. In the last sprint, ALEX Cujavante surprised everyone, even his mate JUAN Sebastian Sanz, who came in second, and got the Gold medal. The third place of the podium went to the French FERNANDEZ Ewen.

1 Lap Circuit Junior Women
The American FRANCHESCA Bell, the 2 Italians GIULIA Bonechi and GIORGIA Bormida and the Belgian NYMPHE Keuleers surely delivered a great Final. FRANCHESCA Bell, who was the lead during the whole lap, got the GOLD medal over GIULIA Bonechi who came in second and GIORGIA Bormida who finished third.

1 Lap Circuit Junior Men
The Colombian JAIME Uribe confirmed the result he got last year in Kaohsiung. In the Final he got the better of the two French, DAMBRUN Thomas (second) and THIEBAULT Valentin (third).

5.000 mt Relay Senior Women
These competitions were mostly led by the Italian girls that headed the race from start to finish, but a leap of the German girls in the last lap secured the Gold medal to Germany. The third place went to China’s team.

In this race, the French team won first place. It was a head to head between the Italian athletes, who came in second, and the French ones. The team from Germany came in third.

The rhythm of the race was clearly established by the Colombian team. In fact, the Colombian girls got the Gold medal, followed by the Italian team with their third Silver on the 5000 mt Relay, and Chile, who got the Bronze medal.

5.000 mt Relay Junior Men
This was the most exciting race of the day, with Italy, USA and Colombia battling each other to take the lead. The last meters were definitely crucial and secured the Gold medal to the Italian team. The American team got the Silver medal and the Colombian athletes the Bronze one.
