Sabatino Aracu, President of the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS), receives with the greatest satisfaction the proposal made by the President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), Giovanni Malagò, to include Roller Sports among the sporting disciplines of the 2024 edition of the Olympic Games for which the city of Rome has submitted his hosting candidature.

In fact, with the 2020 Olympic Agenda, approved in the recent IOC meeting held in Munich in December, starting from the 2020 edition of the Olympic Games in Tokio, the hosting city will be granted the chance to include a non-Olympic discipline in the Games.

Aracu commented while in Nanjing to promote Roller Sports: “Finally the great promotional work carried out during these past few years to make the whole world understand the true worth of Roller Sports is beginning to bear fruits. The statements of both Mr. Malagò and IOC President Thomas Bach, together with the continuing and growing success of our international events are the clear confirmation of this”.
