Sabatino Aracu will continue to preside over World Skate for the next Olympic quadrennium. This was unanimously confirmed by the 73 delegates who participated in today's elective Congress, held in Rome at the CONI Hall of Honor, with the presence of CONI President Giovanni Malagò and ASOIF President Francesco Ricci Bitti, along with a letter of greeting from IOC President Thomas Bach.

Sabatino Aracu, who has held the WS presidency since 2005 and is also the president of the Italian FISR Federation, made a statement after the vote in which he was the sole candidate for the leadership of the highest international sports body for roller disciplines, which became Olympic with Skateboarding at the Japan Olympics. He said: “Thank you to all the countries that, by giving me their full and unanimous trust once again, continue to believe in a global project that, after the Olympic milestone – we are now full members among the five-ring sports – is consolidating with international recognition and the appreciation of the International Olympic Committee itself. A great effort, the litmus test of which is the World Skate Games 2024 currently being held in Italy: an innovative example, a model that is not only sporting but also financial and promotional, offering the best image of our wonderful disciplines, which are increasingly urban and young!”

At the same time, all the leadership positions of World Skate were elected. Representing Italy at the Congress was our FISR Vice President Marika Kullmann, accompanied by Secretary General Angelo Iezzi. The Congress also elected Australian Karen Doyle as Vice President and the WS Continental Presidents. The event was broadcast live on WS WebTV.
