For 12 unforgettable days, Cesena, Italy, became the global center of artistic skating as more than 1,200 athletes from around the world gathered at the Pala BCC Romagnolo for the 2026 Artistic World Cup Final and Last Chance Competition.
From May 27 to June 7, the arena came alive with the passion, dedication, and spirit that define the sport, delivering remarkable performances and creating lasting memories for skaters, coaches, officials, and fans alike.
For the athletes competing in the Artistic World Cup Final, the event marked the culmination of years of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance.
Their journey had taken them across continents through qualifying rounds in Argentina and Germany, all leading to a single moment on the floor and one ultimate goal: earning the prestigious title of World Cup Final Champion. For the Senior athletes, the stakes were even higher as they also competed for a share of the $36,000 prize package.
The Last Chance Competition represented far more than a final opportunity to secure a place in the World Cup Final. It also provided a spotlight for Tots, Minis, and Espoir athletes, offering the skating world a glimpse of the next generation of talent. And what a glimpse it was. A new generation is already emerging that is bold, talented, and ready to inspire the sport for years to come.
Among the millions of memories created, the spirit of sportsmanship shined brightly with 25 nations represented, including all five World Skate continents. Morocco, Thailand, and Egypt proudly joined the world's best athletes and carried their flags onto the international stage.

Two of the sport’s biggest stars, Portugal’s Madalena Costa and Spain’s Guillermo Gomez arrived in Cesena as fan favorites and global icons of artistic skating and both number one in the World Skate Rankings. Their success is proof that the World Cup format develops stronger athletes. After winning World Cup Final gold medals in younger categories, both athletes reached another milestone in Cesena by capturing their first Senior World Cup Final Senior Free Skating titles.
The Leader's Chair became one of the most symbolic sights in Cesena, representing not only the pursuit of medals but also the realization of athletes' dreams. One of the most memorable moments came during the Senior Mens Free Skating event when Argentina’s Juan Rodriguez climbed from fifth place after the Short Program to earn the bronze medal.
As the results became official, his emotional reaction captured the hearts of the Cesena crowd.

In the unique Couples Dance and Pairs events, the spotlight belonged to a remarkable family stories. The Allegranti brothers of Italy each earned a place on the Senior Couples Dance podium. Raoul Allegranti and Caterina Artoni claimed the silver medal, while his younger brother Yuri Allegranti, alongside Elisa Cavina, secured the bronze.
At the top of the podium stood the magnificent three-time World Champions, Gherardo Altieri and Roberta Sasso, whose interpretation of The White Crow was nothing short of mesmerizing. Their performance held the audience completely captivated, creating a rare moment when spectators scarcely dared to breathe, unwilling to miss even a second of the artistry unfolding before them.
The rich history of Pairs skating in Italy has produced many champions, including the Cortini brothers and their collection of medals. Continuing that tradition, Tommaso Cortini and Micol Mills showcased their innovation and once again raised the standard in Senior Pairs.
Their outstanding performance earned 205.98 points and the gold medal, reaffirming their place among the discipline’s elite. Not to be outdone, younger brother Rodolfo Cortini and Ginevra Ricardo authored a remarkable story of their own. After battling through the Last Chance Competition to secure a place in the Final, they delivered when it mattered most, emerging as Junior Pairs Final Champions and adding another golden chapter to the Cortini family legacy.

The Senior Ladies Solo Dance competition delivered another spectacular performance from Roberta Sasso as the three time World Champion once again rose to the occasion and claimed the gold medal.
Her victory further cemented her legacy as a dominant force in Senior Ladies Solo Dance and added another brilliant chapter to an already extraordinary career.
The perfect ending to the 2026 Artistic World Cup Final came from Colombia’s Brayan Carreño in the Senior Mens Solo Dance event. Skating to My Way as the final athlete of the competition, he delivered a gold medal performance, scoring 161.60 points in a program that was both powerful and poetic.
More than a winning performance, My Way reflected the journey of every athlete who competed throughout the World Cup Series. From Buenos Aires to Garmisch Partenkirchen and finally Cesena, skaters from around the world brought their own stories, styles, and dreams to the floor, making the 2026 Artistic World Cup a celebration of individuality, perseverance, and excellence.
“The 2026 Artistic World Cup Final truly showed the very best of our beautiful athletes,” said Nicola Genchi, Chairman of the World Skate Artistic Commission. “We witnessed a level of artistry, dedication, and emotional expression that reflects everything this sport stands for. Behind every performance there are months of preparation, sacrifice, and teamwork from athletes, coaches, organizers, and volunteers who work tirelessly to make events like this possible.”
