Rink Hockey: Decisive Battles Begin in Asunción

Another intense day for world rink hockey. The fourth day of the Women’s World Championship has come to an end, allowing four teams to strengthen their positions at the top of the standings. Spain and Italy remain firmly at the top, winning 5–0 against Switzerland and 21–0 against Mexico, respectively. Portugal also confirmed its second- place position with a 16–1 win over Brazil. The battle for second place in Group A is still wide open. Chile defeated France 4–2 and caught up with Argentina: the two teams will face each other at 20:00 (local time), with Chile having two of the three possible outcomes in its favour to advance to the semi-finals. Colombia, meanwhile, is in third place after its third win, against India (9–0). As of today, the top scorer is Elena Tamiozzo (Italy) with 11 goals, followed by Sofia Moncovio (Portugal) with 10.

Meanwhile, at the COP Arena, it is the day of the first decisive matches in the Under-19 competition. Colombia–Italy (12:30), France–Argentina (15:00), Portugal–Switzerland (17:30), Spain–India (20:00). The top scorer to date is Joris Echappe (France) with 10 goals, followed by Martim Nunes (Portugal) with six.
