The Women's World Championship of Rink Hockey in Iquique started with large victories of Italy, Chile and Argentina

The 13th Women's World Championship of rink hockey begun in Iquique (Chile) with the first three games and the opening ceremony. The major of Iquique, M. Jorge Soria Quiroga, and the FIRS first vice-president M. Armando Quintanilla Cerpa, welcomed the athletes in a venue full of spectators.




The championship begun without surprises. All the games of the firts daymatch ended with large results. Italy and Egypt played in the afternoon and the european team got the largest result of today winning the game 16-0. In the evening, Chile and Argentina found some more difficulties in the beginning of their games against Usa and Colombia. The goalkeeper of the United States (who plays for a chilean team) kept her cage unbeated for a long time, but then Chile found out the way to increase the result until 12-0. Colombia tried to resist against the defending champion, but the "Aquilas" flyed very high tonight and won the match 9-1.
On Sunday, there are six games scheduled: two in the morning (starting from 11 AM CLT) and four in the afternoon and evening, (starting from 5 PM CLT). The most awaited game is Portugal-Spain that is crucial for the outcome of the group B.
