It has been a great day for the world inline hockey at the Youth Olympic Sports Park Gymnasium of Nanjing. In day 2 of the World Roller Games, Czech Republic, Italy, Sweden and Spain won their pool; Usa, Colombia, Switzerland and France, seconds in the standings, also got their quarter finals spot. These eight teams are going to play tomorrow afternoon, starting the race for the gold medal.

Pool A
Czech Republic is the favourite team to win the gold medal and shows it today. The czechs have no problems to beat Chinese Taipei (10-1) and they win also with Usa: 6 – 3 is the final result. Usa, after a suffering victory versus New Zealand (1-0), gets the second place and will face Italy in the quarter finals.
In the derby of Oceania, New Zealand wins against Australia for 5-3.
Tomas Kazlepka (team manager of Czech Republic): “We knew Usa because is some years that they have the same players, they have good individual skills. We play our game, with patient, and we win. Our point of course is win the gold medal and we are working hard, i think we can do that”.
Pool B
Underdog Colombia complete an outstanding comeback victory against Canada. The north americans starts better, and scoring goal after goal take the lead quickly, playing good hockey. With Colombia trailing 1-5, the game suddendly changes: Canada loses his focus, the south americans battles hard and finds the back of the net 5 straight times. Do you believe in miracles? Final seconds are hearthbreaking but Canada can't find a way to equalize. Final score: Colombia 6 – Canada 5.
In the afternoon a solid italian team defeats Canada 5-2 and gets the first place in pool B. In the meanwhile, Colombia beats India 23-0 and gets the second spot.
Eduardo Orrizo (Colombia's coach): “We are so happy, it's an historic win for our country: it seems unbelievable that Colombia can beat Canada. But we didi it! It was a tough game, we work really hard to win, we were mentally prepared, we show that we can change our destiny”.
Pool C
Sweden is the winner of Pool C. Lots of emotion at the main rink, where the swedish beats Switzerland 4-3 in a really tough game. Both powerplays works very well. In final minutes, Sweden scores a penalty shot (3-2), Switzerland immediatly ties the game (3-3) and then again Sweden takes the lead on a rebound.
Germany defeats Korea 4-1 and takes the 3rd position in the pool.
Carl Rosendal (swedish goalie): “Against the swiss was a really tough game: we played as a group, especially during the last minutes, when they battled hard. That really made the difference. Our best quality is the difensive game. I think we have chances to win the gold medal”.
Pool D
With an incredible victory over France, Spain is the leader of pool D. Awesome match, with the great comeback of Spain, from 0-2 to 3-2: 2 goals scored in the last minute of the game.
Third place for Great Britain, that ties with Nambia 4-4 with a last minute gol after pulling out the goalie.
Phil Boudreault (Spain's coach): “We are really happy for the great victory against France. I'm still looking for the best line-up combination, but i'm quiet confident for the next game. It's always a long process with the young guys”.
Matthew Wojcik (Namibia's coach) “Results at the tournament don't reflect how well we are playing. Big improvement for us from the last year, now we can skate with the biggest teams and compete with them”.
JUNIOR WOMEN
Second tied game in the pool for Italy, that scores the goal of the 3-3 with one minute left on the clock: for Italy was very important don't lose against New Zealand, to conserve their advantage in the standing.
In the other games, large victory for Italy and Chinese Taipei versus India and for New Zealand against Australia.
Hemlata (indian player): “We lose the game with Chinese Taipei, they are a really good team. We are improving a lot and having fun, we want to increase our skills playing this matches”.
Gianluca Tomasello (team manager of Italy): “We have to adjust our penalty killing, but after all is a good point for us”.
