The first-ever World Skate Marathon Tour (WSMT) has officially come to an end, and what a season it was! Across three exciting stages, Shanghai - China, Pescara - Italy, Havana - Cuba, the world’s best marathon skaters faced challenges, triumphs, and unforgettable moments, marking a new milestone for speed skating on a global scale.

The WSMT kicked off in Shanghai, China, where over 1,000 participants raced along the iconic Bund. Despite a challenging wet road, the skaters gave us an incredible show. Bart Swings (Powerslide Vesmaco) claimed the men’s victory, while Gabriela Vargas (Arena Geisingen CCN Team) won the women’s category.

From China, the tour moved to Pescara, Italy, during the World Skate Games. Skaters faced a tricky coastal route that was made even more exciting by the mix of individual pro skaters representing national teams. Nolan Beddiaf ( FR Skates ) and Luz Karime Garzon ( Colombia ) took the top spots in this unpredictable race.

The final stage brought the action to Havana, Cuba, blending the thrill of competition with the energy of the Caribbean. A tactical race and bold breakaways led to victories for Jason Suttles and Karoll Garcia, both representing Powerslide Vesmaco.

From the bustling streets of Shanghai to Italy’s tricky coastal roads and Cuba’s unique vibe, the WSMT showcased marathon skating’s diversity and global reach.

Recognizing their efforts inspires kids worldwide to pick up skates, work hard, and believe in themselves. This is how our sport grows and thrives.
