Artistic International Series SemiFinals – Buenos Aires, Argentina (April 5-13)
The first AIS SemiFinal will take place in the stunning city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, from April 5-13. Known for its vibrant culture and beautiful architecture, Buenos Aires will set the stage for athletes to compete at their highest level. This historic city will offer an unforgettable backdrop as the world's top skaters battle for a chance to make it to the Final.
Artistic International Series SemiFinals – Trieste, Italy (May 8-19)
The second AIS SemiFinal will be held in Trieste, Italy, from May 8-19. Trieste is one of the most iconic destinations for Artistic Skating in the world. For skaters and fans alike, this is more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of the sport in a special place that has been part of the AIS journey since day one.
What to Look For at the 2025 AIS SemiFinals & Final:
• Solo & Couple Dance: Prepare to be captivated by skaters who blend the technical with expressive storytelling, transforming the rink into a stage of emotion and artistry. In Couple Dance expect breathtaking choreography that tells a story with every movement.
• Free Skating: Watch as athletes push the boundaries, raising the level of difficulty and fluidity to new heights. With performances often separated by mere tenths of a point, every moment counts, making the competition incredibly intense.
• Pairs: A highlight of any competition, Pairs will showcase innovation, strength, and trust between partners. Italy has long dominated this category, but the Americas are making strides to challenge for the podium in 2025.
• New SemiFinals Rules: The pressure is on from the start! In the Cadet, Youth, Junior and Senior Style Dance and Short Programs only the top 18 skaters/teams will advance to the Free Dance or Long Program.
• The Future: The SemiFinals in Buenos Aires and Trieste will feature Tots, Minis, and Espoirs in Free Skating and Solo Dance. These categories represent the future stars of artistic skating and will give everyone a glimpse of the next generation of talent.
• World Skate Rankings Points: Junior and Senior skaters will also vie for crucial World Skate Rankings points, which will play a key role in determining the starting positions at the World Championships.
The Artistic International Series World Cup Final – Italy, June 2025
After the two SemiFinals, the top skaters will converge in Italy for the AIS Final, which will be held in June. This is where the best of the best will battle it out to see who lands on the podium and wins the title of Artistic International Series Champion.
The qualification process for the Final ensures a fair and competitive field of skaters, with up to 8 men and 8 women from the Cadet, Youth, Junior, and Senior categories as well as Pairs and Couple Dance will be eligible. Excluding Wild Cards and Last Chance Finalists, skaters are selected based on their highest overall score from the SemiFinal rounds. The highest-ranked skater of each nation from the SemiFinal rounds will be considered first, ensuring each country is represented. If spots remain after this initial selection, the next highest-ranked skaters from each nation, starting with the highest overall score, are considered until all 8 spots are filled. In the event that a continent has no representation in the final, a Wild Card is awarded to the highest- ranked skater from that continent, further promoting global participation.
New This Year:Last Chance
The Last Chance event, taking place prior to the highly anticipated Final at the same venue, will offer athletes one final opportunity to compete for a coveted spot in the Final. This fresh format provides a thrilling twist for skaters who haven't qualified yet, opening the door for non-qualified athletes to earn their place among the top competitors. In this event, skaters in Cadet through Senior will perform only the Long Program or Free Dance, making it a fast-paced and high-stakes competition. With only one program to prove themselves, the pressure is on to see who will earn the spot for the Final.
Cash Prizes
For the Senior competitors, the AIS Final will be even more rewarding! The top three medalists in the Senior events will be awarded cash prizes as athletes push themselves to their limits. With a total of $36,000 up for grabs, this generous prize pool will not only honor the incredible talent and dedication of these athletes but also elevate the prestige of the AIS Final, ensuring an exciting contest for all involved.
The Artistic International Series is about more than just medals. It's a celebration of the skill, passion, and dedication that drives these athletes to perform at their best throughout the season. Don’t miss a moment of the action—catch it all live at www.worldskate.tv
