This is not simply a season. It is a milestone.

What Makes 2026 Historic
- A True World Cup Structure
The World Cup format elevates Artistic Skating to a new level of international recognition. It strengthens the sports presence within the global sports landscape and reinforces the legitimacy and prestige of our competitive pathway. The world is watching, and the athletes are performing on a stage that reflects the magnitude of their talent.
- Proven Growth Through Year Round Competition
The expansion of structured international events throughout the season has already demonstrated measurable impact. Technical levels are rising. Depth of field is expanding. Emerging nations are gaining experience and confidence. By providing meaningful international competition opportunities across the year, the Artistic World Cup is accelerating the evolution of the sport.
- Expanded World Skate Rankings
For the first time in history, Cadet and Youth skaters will be included in the World Skate Rankings. This groundbreaking step acknowledges that the future of the sport is happening now. Young athletes will see their performances recognized on the same international ranking platform as Junior and Senior competitors. Importantly, it gives Cadet and Youth skaters the chance to fight not only for podiums but for the title of the number one ranked skater on the planet. It is a powerful investment in development and long term growth.
- Advancement Format
In Cadet, Youth, Junior, and Senior Style Dance and Short Programs, only the top 18 skaters or teams will advance. From the very first program, the pressure is real and the stakes are high.
- The Future on Display
Tots, Minis, and Espoirs will compete reminding us that the World Cup is not only about champions today, but about inspiring champions tomorrow. New this year the Tots, Minis, and Espoirs can also participate in Last Chance not to qualify for the Final, but for the unique experience of competing at the same venue as one of the most important competitions of the year.
Artistic World Cup Final
Cesena, Italy
The World Cup reaches its emotional pinnacle in Cesena, Italy, from June 1–7, 2026.
This is where it all comes to a head. The pressure intensifies as skaters battle for a place on the podium, determined to see their flag rise and to claim the ultimate honor of World Cup Champion.
Qualification System
Up to 8 men and 8 women from Cadet, Youth, Junior, and Senior Free Skating and Solo Dance categories, along with Pairs and Couple Dance, will qualify.
The system ensures international representation while rewarding excellence. The highest ranked skater from each nation is considered first, reinforcing the truly global identity of the World Cup. If a continent has no representation, a Wild Card ensures that every region of the world has a voice on the sport’s biggest stage.
Last Chance A Final Opportunity
Held immediately before the Final in Cesena, the Last Chance event embodies determination and belief.
Cadet through Senior athletes will perform only the Long Program or Free Dance. There are no second chances. The intensity is unmatched. For some, it will be heartbreak. For others, it will be triumph. First place finishers in each category will stamp their ticket directly to the Final.
Show & Precision World Cup
May 30 to 31, 2026 – Cesena, Italy
Tucked in between Last Chance and the Final, the 2026 Show & Precision World Cup will showcase the sport’s most spectacular group events. This includes Show, Quartet and Precision in both the Junior and Senior categories.
This dedicated weekend will bring the theatrics and vibrancy that the sport offers.
