From track to road the spectacular races of the speed skating continue with the 100mt sprint for Junior and Senior, the 10000 points Junior and 20000 elimination for the Senior categories.

Full house today at the Nanjing Sport Training Center where kids, passionate and athletes from other disciplines came to enjoy the world of speed.

As usual the morning started with heats of the 100mt drag race until the semi-finals. Then, after lunch break, long distance skaters have inaugurated the finals of the day.

Junior Ladies:

The 10000 points race has been characterized of two important breakaways. One at the beginning with the Colombian Campeona Daniela Mendoza and one with the Italian Laura Lorenzato, taking advantage of Mendoza rest moment. Both Korean skaters were in the mix, catching enough points to ensure a good results.

1 - Daniela Mendoza Colombia 10 points

2 - Lee Sujin South Korea 8 points

3 - Laura Lorenzato Italy 8 points

Junior Men:

Same as the ladies, breakaways were the protagonist of the race. At the beginning there wasn’t a real king of the race since a lot of skaters took points. In fact, only at few laps to go, with the attack of Martin Ferrie from France who was looking for a better placement after the Track Championship, the billboard of points have seen the podium defined:

1 - Martin Ferrie France 10 points

2 - Jeong Byeonghee South Korea 7 points

3 - Lin Ping Hung Chinese Taipei 7 points

Senior Ladies:

In the elimination race, saving the energy for the last sprint is primary. The Colombian team worked together flawless. Fabriana Arias with an amazing last lap took the win for Colombia and set a new World Record for the 20000 elimination, followed by Sandrine Tas from Belgium who add another medal in her pocket and “only” 3rd place for Francesca Lollobrigida, the Queen of the track races.

Senior Men:

The French Team today was on fire. After the gold in the junior category, Nolan Beddiaf surprise everybody and with a perfect race and a very strong last lap, won the title of the 20k elimination race with a new World Record. 2nd place for Colombian Manuel Saavedra and 3rd for Daniel Niero of Italy.

At the end of the night, pure speed and pure adrenaline for the 100mt sprint. No one want to miss this race and all the spectators came down from the stands to see from near the rockets of speed.
