Today USA needed the victory against the Italian girls to pass to the following phase so they were really motivated even though, with one tie and two defeats, it seemed quite difficoult for them to beat the host team who was leading the pool and had a great tournament till today: Only New Zealand was able to stop the "Azzurrine" with a tie in the morning. The Americans took the lead thanks to a goal scored by Lauren McKenzie Power and doubled with Ashley Larae Printzen before the end of the first period. Back to the rink, Italy got a double power play but was unable to reduce the distances. However, the Italian girls were pushing hard and in few minutes got many scoring opportunities: two goals - Rebecca Roccella and Victoria Zecchin Ferrara - and a crossbar. Arianna Bisi scored the goal that delivered to Italy both the victory and the first position in the Pool.

Chinese Taipei, 2017 Champion, overruled the match against Australia: four goals scored in a row in the first 5 minutes of the match made quite impossible any Australian come back and the final score is 9-0. Chinese Taipei and Spain lead the Pool A with equal merit: as the two teams closed the pools in a perfect tie, the shootouts will determine the positions tomorrow morning in Roana at 11.00am.

Tomorrow the girls will have a rest day before the Quarter Finals.

Tomorrow also Sweden and Argentina will play at 9.30 and the winner will play against Colombia: losing against Spain today, the Colombians got the fourth position in the Pool B and in the barriage match will try to pass to the quarters.
France - Canada and Italy - Czech Republic were head-to-head in their respective pools and both the matches have been amazing. Matthew Garb scored the first goal for Canada in power play and France tied 2 minutes later thanks to Karl Gabilet. The first period closed with the French advantage with a goal scored in power play by Lambert Hamon. Back to the rink, the Canadiennes were not in the game anymore and France score three more goals. Italy - Czech republic closed the day: undoubtedly an intense match with continuos actions, pushing and counter-attaks. Both the teams proved strategy and concentration, skating skills and puck mastery: add to this the fairplay and the winning attitude of all the athletes in the rink and you will get the perfect match! The Czechs scored first with a goal by Jakub Bernad, but they did not save any energy and the match was really breathtaking: Mikulas Zboril scored the second goal and Petr Sinagl closed the match with the third goal.
