The first two days of Rink Hockey have produced no particular surprises in terms of results. In the Senior Women’s World Championship, four teams are already on six points in the standings, and they are the four teams expected to do well before the tournament began. They will face each other tomorrow in a double-header that could already split the standings: Portugal–Italy at 14:00 and Spain–Argentina at 20:00. In Group A, Argentina secured 5–1 and 6–0 wins against Switzerland and France respectively, once again confirming the strength of the team assembled by the 2022 world champions. Spain beat France 6–0, but in today’s match against Chile they struggled greatly against the South American side’s defence, managing to claim all three points only in the final second, thanks to Aina Florenza’s decisive goal. In Group B, Portugal and Italy are top with perfect records, having beaten India (28–0) and Colombia (5–0), and Brazil (13–1) and India (21–0), respectively. Colombia beat Mexico 4–1 and are on three points. Yesterday evening, the venue was changed at the International Committee’s decision because the COP Arena rink was in less-than-ideal condition. The schedule has therefore been amended, with all matches now being played at SND Arenita.

The Under 19 Championship is still wide open after two days of qualifying. Two teams have certainly shown that they have something extra compared with their opponents: Spain in Group A and Portugal in Group B, both with two wins from two matches. Spain beat Italy and Argentina 4–1 and 6–1 respectively, while Portugal secured an 11–1 win against Colombia and a 3–1 win against France. Italy and Argentina, who will face each other tomorrow at 10:00, have beaten Argentina 7–0 and 7–3. Here too, the schedule has changed: two matches have been postponed to 7 October, the rest day, and moved to the morning at SND Arenita. Live Streaming on World Skate TV www.worldskate.tv
